Program Supervisor - Adult Outpatient Services

Location: Our Main Office in Port Angeles, WA (no remote work)

Full-Time / Exempt

Pay Range: $84,864 to $110,323 per year

Hours: 40/week, Mon-Fri, 8 AM-5 PM

JOB PURPOSE:  The Clinical Supervisor in the Adult Outpatient Program provides clinical leadership, oversight, and support for the adult therapy team. This role is responsible for supervising licensed therapists, licensure associates, and interns, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based behavioral health services. The supervisor fosters professional development, supports clinical competence, and ensures compliance with agency policies, ethical standards, and state licensing requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and mentoring to therapists, licensure associates, and interns, including regular case consultation and performance feedback.
  • Oversee treatment planning, documentation, and clinical interventions to ensure adherence to evidence-based practices and agency standards.
  • Support professional growth of team members through coaching, skill development, and promotion of best practices in adult behavioral health therapy.
  • Monitor productivity, caseload distribution, and quality outcomes within the adult therapy department.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services for clients.
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of therapy staff.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards, including supervision requirements for licensure associates and interns.
  • Assist in developing and implementing department policies, procedures, and training initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource for complex clinical cases and ethical dilemmas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains familiarity with and handles client information in accordance with Federal Regulations (42 CRF, Part 2) and the Revised Code of Washington (RCW 71.05.390 and RCW 71.24), and other applicable laws pertaining to confidentiality of client and staff information.
  • Maintains physical security of confidential materials and assigned agency property.
  • Promotes openness and safety in the workplace.
  • Works with supervisors in other departments to facilitate cross-team communication service provision for clients.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Provides routine supervision and oversight of staff which is interactive, with a problem-solving and growth focus, and tailored to meet the specific needs of staff supervised.
  • Provides leadership, acts as a role model, and promotes team building, allowing a work environment that is creative, collaborative and has the goal of meeting the needs of the client.
  • Ensure that clients' needs for treatment are met in a timely manner and that services provided and clinical documentation meet professional and agency standards.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, LICENSE(S), CERTIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:   Master's Degree or Doctorate in Behavioral Health related field

Licensure:    

  • Licensed as a licensed clinical social worker (LICSW), licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), or licensed clinical psychologist in Washington State. Meets the qualifications of an Approved Supervisor in Washington State.

Experience:  At least 5 years working in the Behavioral Health field and ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide treatment to adults and older adults.

Additional requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
  • Must be able to provide vaccination records for MMR, Hep B, Tdap and recent flu shot

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL CREDENTIALS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience supervising interns, practicum students, or licensure associates.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices in adult behavioral health.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to foster a supportive, inclusive, and growth-oriented team environment.

Essential:

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work and meet agency standards for performance, quality assurance, and productivity.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with clients, staff, and the public.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records system.
  • Sound clinical judgment and ability to model quality clinical care to staff.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Physical Demands:

  • Moderate effort occasionally lifting up to twenty-five pounds.
