JOB PURPOSE: The Supervisor of the Autism Program provides clinical and administrative leadership in the development, implementation, and ongoing oversight of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) services within the organization. This position requires certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and licensure as a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in Washington State.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
CLINICAL
- Development of the program infrastructure including developing service pathways and clinical protocols.
- Provide direct supervision, training, mentorship, and oversight to Certified Behavior Technicians (CBTs) and student behavior analysts, while promoting evidence-based and person-centered care for children, youth, and families.
- Conduct initial and ongoing behavioral assessments, including Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
- Develop, implement, and oversee individualized ABA treatment plans.
- Provide direct and indirect ABA services to clients and families.
ADMINISTRATIVE
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, community partners, and agency leadership to support the successful integration of autism services within the broader behavioral health system.
- Ensures that services are provided in compliance with State and MCO contracts and other contractual arrangements.
- Provides in-service training to Agency staff as needed, within scope of knowledge and experience.
- Conducts staffing, staff meetings, and individual staff supervision as needed; administers timely performance appraisals and job coaching/corrective action, as appropriate.
- Maintains schedule of staff coverage, approves requests for leave (sick, vacation, and educational), and signs time sheets.
- Participates in staff recruitment and training.
- Maintains cordial and effective working relationships with community and governmental agencies, other professionals, consumers, and their families.
- Maintains familiarity with and handles client information in accordance with Federal Regulations (42 CFR, part 2), the Revised Code of Washington (RCW 71.05.390 and RCW 71.24), and other applicable laws pertaining to confidentiality of client and staff information.
- Maintains physical security of confidential materials and assigned Agency property.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures practice of consistently high standards of professional conduct by self and subordinates in the performance of assigned duties and in interaction with clients, staff, and other community professionals.
- Ensures timely and accurate chart information by self and subordinates, in compliance with Washington State Law and Quality Assurance guidelines.
- Maintains confidentiality of the Agency, personnel, and client information.
- Maintains professional and supervisory competencies through a program of professional development and in-service training.
- Provides information and education in the community, representing self and the Agency in a positive and professional manner.
- Participates in relevant department meetings, as appropriate.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by Clinical Director.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
- Provides clinical and administrative supervision to the staff of the Autism Spectrum Services team.
- Provides direct service to or on behalf of PBH clients for at least half of the hours worked annually.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, LICENSE(S), CERTIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related behavioral science
Experience:
- Providing ABA services to pediatric populations preferred
- Supervising CBTs and clinical staff
Licensure:
- Active Washington State Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) credential required or eligibility for licensure
- Current BCBA certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
Additional agency requirements:
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Must be able to provide vaccination records for MMR, Hep B, Tdap and recent flu shot.
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL CREDENTIALS/EXPERIENCE:
Experience: Two (2) years of clinical supervisory experience
